1. Cold Aggregate Hopper
What needs to be noticed here is mainly about the size and the number of cold feeder bin.
Usually, the size is from 6m3 to 13m3 while the number is usually 4-6.
2. Drum Dryer
Drum dryers adopt direct heat in parallel flow or counter flow type.
Usually, the way of counter-flow performs better in terms of the efficiency of heat exchange.
The position of the oil burner of LUTON asphalt plant is on the opposite direction of the flow of the cold aggregates, that is, counter flow heating of aggregates.
3. Vibrating Screen
There are two main factors affected the choice of vibrating screen.
One is the material. Our stationary bitumen plant uses steel alloy which is solid and durable. The other is the mesh size. The mesh size can change in light of your needs. For example, if you need 5 kinds of aggregates, the number of mesh size should be 6.
4. Bitumen Tanks
You should take your eyes on factors such as the insulation or the sealing device.

How Does an Asphalt Plant Work?
Batching and Conveying
The cold aggregates (gravel, sand, crushed rock) are fed into aggregate bins. Passed through a rough weighing, the aggregates drop down to the feeder belt as a specified ratio, and then to the collector belt.
The tilted conveyor belt helps these calculated aggregates into the drum.
Drying
The oil burner is on the opposite position of the flow of cold aggregates, which ensures the maximum heating and minimum dust production.
Screening and Weighing
After the fully drying in the rotary drum, aggregates become hot and are conveyed to the vibrating screen with the assistance of bucket elevator.
The vibrating screen filters different aggregates into the separate bins. By way of accurate weighing, the various aggregates enter into the hot bins, waiting for mixing.
Mixing
Double shaft and double helix ensures the hot screened aggregates, filler material, asphalt are completely mixed in mixing pot.
(For drum asphalt plant, the mixing takes place in the rotary drum, which means asphalt drum mixing plant doesn’t have the function of screening and weighing.)
Storing
Stirred aggregates are poured down to the storage silo, ready to transport to offsite.
